Speaking about the glories of the Shree Sai Sachcharit, Sadguru Shree Aniruddhasinh (Aniruddha Bapu) says, ‘The Sai Sachcharit’ is not merely an account of the principles and the mission of Sainath; this work recounts the life of several bhaktas and how they attained the grace of Sainath.

This work is a depiction of history. This work contains as much the life and mission of Sai bhaktas as that of Sainath and so it is for us, a means to learn to attain the grace of the Parameshwar. In the very first verse of the Sai Mahima (the glories and eminence of Sai) Bapu says;

“Sainath is my Lord, Sainath is my faith; Sainath, my Master; O my Sadguru Sainath!”

Lord Sainath

Shree Sai Mahima
Sainath is my Lord
Sainath is my faith
Sainath, my Master
O my Sadguru Sainath!….1
Bhakti singular, pure from the heart
From You I ask, You alone can grant
Neither worship nor seva I know of
I am blinded, my senses numb…..2

Calm be my mind, collected in peace
May Your name dwell in it always
In surrender I offer myself at Your Feet
Grant me, forever be it….3

The blind may even see
The dumb may render the vedas
The lame too scale steep heights
What with Your grace, what cannot be? ….4

You are an ocean of grace solemn, great
And I, a dull beast, so inadequate
I shirk, I shun in bhakti the effort
Lift me, lead me, will You please?….5

In trouble I call, You nudge me to
In happiness I am charmed, You allow me not to.
Why do you play this game, why do You?
O Gururaayaa?….6

O Sainath! O Sairam!
The eternal one who is fulfilment!
O Saibaba! O Sai, my god!
Do Salvage me O please!….7

You are my Mother
Yet I so lowly, fallen
So it is, but it has happened
How at all? just how O God?….8

As is the love, the sentiment in the heart
So it perceives, the event, the moment
Your vessel safe, that is it
To keep afloat in the stormy seas….9

The burdens of life I lug along
I am tired, they weigh me down
So in Your love, I sing Your glories,
To be assured, to be at rest….10

May pitch darkness engulf me
May the deluge soar mountain high
Your grace, Your love I feel
Right there, right then I know You are….11

Pain, illness, worry, disease
Agony, sorrow or misery be
All wiped out clean, we are rid
When immersed in Your name, the self dissolves…12

The Kaliyug sees sham, so common, so usual
Heartfelt worship loses to deceitful ritual
The name of Sai ultimate, emerges
Causes what ought to be, the truth manifests….13

Any place You rush, any time at all
For the bhakta’s sake, You are support, You come
This trust in my heart I hold on firm,
O Sai, as I chant Your name….14

He is Saibaba, Sairam He is
He is Saikrishna, the sole desire He is
Complete and perfect His name alone is
Sainath, O Sainath!….15

May I wish it, may I not
May Your Will be done as it ought
This alone be my prayer, please grant
This may I speak willing and forthright….16
Dharma, artha, kaam, moksha
The purushartha You watch over, for sure
Guard and protect them in me, O Master
Through all my births, every time….17

As we sow, so we will reap
The vile will always fetch us grief
But from the deed that to vile leads
We turn away, Your name is the light….18

I come to You, cleanse me O Sai,
My buddhi, and body, my word and mind
At Your door, the eight siddhis I find
No want now, I remain fulfilled….19

Sai Charitra Panchsheel Exam
When one studies Sai Satcharitra and reflects on it, one is induced to rethink.  This rethinking develops a new outlook towards life. It is this change or this willingness to rethink which helps us to become a quality human being.

These and several other facts become an inspiration for one in life.  One then takes on the journey towards the road of life equipped with Devotion.  One is then able to strike a congruence between love for God and our worldly life.

Sai Satcharitra
Shri Saisatcharitra through its narration of stories of Sai Baba’s devotees and their experiences teaches us the same as taught by our scriptures and other sacred work.  However, for ordinary human beings, Saisatcharitra is like a teacher who teaches her children some important lessons in life.  It simplifies the lessons of life by arousing a curiosity to learn more.

Everyone wants peace and joy to last lifelong in one’s life. By studying Sai Satcharitra, one can, not only groom oneself but also model one’s behavior, based on the behavior of some great devotees which we read in the Charitra. Imbibing these behavioural patterns would help us make progress towards taking a step closer to God.  The Sai Satcharitra through narration of devotees’ experiences, teaches the ways in which one can remain firmly anchored in one’s faith inspite of difficulties.  It also allows us to experience God’s existence in every moment of one’s life. Sai Satcharitra is in itself a whole universe of Devotion, of love among people and of divine interventions of God. It welcomes anyone who wishes to savor its taste. It also teaches the ways in which one can take on the journey towards “Him”.  It helps one to become more self-aware.  It quenches the thirst for everyone who wishes to seek God and then surprisingly, makes one want more of it.

Sadguru Aniruddha Bapu
Sadguru Aniruddha Bapu

The Panchasheel Examination is conducted by ‘Shri Sai Samartha Vidnyan Prabodhini’. The institute was established by the blessings and grace of Sadguru Shri Aniruddha Bapu It definitely evaluates knowledge of a person but with a different touch. Param Pujya Aniruddha Bapu says,
"studying the Shri Sai Satcharitra not only implies taking inside of us, the values that it contains, but also acknowledging and implementing them on the outside."

For instance, Sai Satcharitra teaches that God exists inside of everyone. It is therefore, imperative that one acknowledges his presence in everyone. As a result, one is connected to everyone around. One’s interaction with fellow beings ought to improve. If one is passing through difficult times, it is the unwavering faith and perseverance that ought to help him overcome those challenging situations.  It would also mean then, that faith and perseverance are two sides of the same coin.

One would then garner strength to face life. It is also important to remember that chanting God’s name would also facilitate one to experience him. One needs to begin chanting his name regularly.  Everything is perishable but one must know that HIS name, his love and his grace will never perish. They are driven by his will and his wish. Hence whatever he desires will naturally be implemented. One’s devotion towards God, one’s sentiments towards him, are, in fact, his love and grace.

The Udi, the sacred ash, is what remains after a burning down process occurs. The Sai Satcharitra narrates several experiences of devotees who benefitted immensely by consuming it and by adorning it on one’s forehead.

The Udi is an embodiment of the following words by Aniruddha Bapu:

You and I firm together, nothing can stand in the way, ever.

Shri Saisatcharitra

Examinations-are-based-on-Shree-Sai-Sachcharit-written-by-Shree-Govind-Raghunath-Dabholkar-Hemadpant.
Shri. Govind Raghunath Dabholkar
The Shri Sai Satcharita is a sacred text with a difference. An expression of divine Inspiration and Will, which flowed in lucid Marathi from the plume of Hemadpant alias Shri Govind Raghunath Dabholkar, reaches out to us mainly because it speaks to each one of us.

More importantly, it contains stories of bhaktas, who lived in the times of Shri Saibaba of Shirdi, of bhaktas who loved Him so much, were so devoted and committed to Him, and were so close to His heart, that their stories cannot be separate from His. The Shri Sai Satcharita is an account of the lives of the bhaktas of Shri Sainath, their bhakti and their path to Him. Contrary to common belief, it is not a commentary on the miracles performed by Baba.

This sacred work gives simple messages, simple enough to be absorbed and yet the kind that cause vital changes in life. And these changes are the miracles brought about by the Sadguru. We come into this world with love and bhakti in our heart and so tending to express these sentiments is in fact, ‘natural’.

Bhakti is a way of life and may we understand well, that it is in no way separate from our worldly life. The Sadguru, the Ultimate Principle is Truth, He is Love and He is Joy. We owe the love in our hearts to Him. Loving Him and surrendering unto Him, unto His word, which is the Truth, assures lasting Joy.

It is easy to relate to the events, the ups and downs and the crisis in the lives of the bhaktas in this work. However, what we must feel and identify with and experience is their love and bhakti for the Sadguru, the strength that is His Grace and the firm conviction that He is the Ultimate, He is just everything.
